Shifting Focus

Howdy Stranger!

I haven't been in here for a while, so I thought I'd drop by. If you've been paying attention you probably think we've been absent. Not so, my friend. The fact is that this website is, and always has been, one of many related projects.

Here are just a few sneak-peaks of what we are working on.

Custom production is back! We aren't where we were pre-earthquake, or where we want to be with this, but we are producing again. I'll have a few new custom icons up in the next couple of weeks. The new production studio is focused on one-off, rather than replicable figures.

I'm SUPER excited about this next one. See, we finally have our praise band! I have always wanted to stage dadaist modern revivals, and we now have the band to do it. *Praising who? Exactly!* We are calling it Bhagavad Gangstas. I'll post some links or something as they become available. Huge shout out to the Pall Mall. It's really his band. I'm just the singer and arranger.

We have also partnered with some friends on a new venture. At the moment it is based around a personality test evolved from various historical philosophies, but in time will grow to be so much more. My contribution to this joint effort is largely the demystifying of these esoteric ideas. We want to take the ideas behind divination (largely, and for example) and remove the more magical applications, focusing on a very temporal usage. Imagine a tarot reading, except simply asking which symbols apply through simple archetypal substitution. Don't worry if that didn't make sense. You'll see when we roll it out. This will be hosted on it's own site, but we will definitely link back here, and vice versa.

That's the big news for now.

I've been meaning to write an article here about Tuesday's Song. Big surprise, I know. I want to explain the gendering in more detail, specifically. It is written from a male perspective but I'm not supper happy with that. The short version, since I probably won't get to writing the real article any time soon, is that it had to be gender consistent throughout and non-gendered pronouns would have been impossible with the careful use of voice (1st, 2nd, 3rd person) and singulars versus plurals. There are a couple of versus that are downright misogynistic and I deeply regret that. Unfortunately, these versus were necessary and I did not feel comfortable grossly changing the received meaning. You get that, right? That I didn't really compose Tuesday's Song?

I'd also love to post an article about practical, non-magical approaches to divination. Yep. You guessed it. Ties right in with the new business idea. Turns out, you don't have to be a believer in magic to be a believer in the Lunatic Deck or the I-Ching. Maybe later. We'll see.

If you haven't gathered this yet, this website is a sort of showroom. It's a portal to get you clued in. If you really want to see the fireworks you should probably reach out. We're on FB, Insta, Twit (ya twit!). Or just email us. Or show up to an event. We'll be doing events again soon, likely starting in late April.

Alright, that's all for now. I need to go walk the children...
